Skye Jamieson

is an Australian painter whose practice is shaped by contemplation, intuition and an enduring relationship with prayer.

She studied at the Australian National University School of Art and Design from 2013 to 2021 and has exhibited nationally across Australia.

Working primarily through abstraction, Jamieson approaches the act of painting as both a devotional and receptive process. Rather than imposing a predetermined image upon the canvas, she allows each work to emerge through an attentive engagement with material, gesture and time. Her studio becomes a place of devotion, quiet and reflection.

Walking is an important extension of her practice. Daily encounters with the landscape expand her awareness of light, movement, repetition and the subtle rhythms of the outside world. These observations are carried back into the studio, not as literal representations, but as impressions that inform the atmospheric language of her paintings.

Through colour, gesture and abstraction, Jamieson creates works concerned with prayer, presence and the possibility of encountering something beyond what can be readily articulated.
